Are you looking for Botox Treatments in Southwest Calgary? The team at Oakridge Crossing Dental is pleased to now offer Therapeutic & Cosmetic Botox® treatments to our General & Family Dental patients.

What is Dental Botox®?

Also called a neuromodulator, Botox is a prescription medicine that goes by trade names of Botox®, Xeomine and Dysport. These products all contain a substance called botulin. Botulin is a protein that is naturally purified and is considered completely safe when injected in small, targeted amounts to specific muscles.

When injected into a specific targeted facial muscle, this can result in an elimination or a reduction of muscle pain from grinding or clenching. When applied cosmetically, it can help smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles/aging.

How Long Does Botox® Last?

Most patients can expect that Botox results can reach maximum effect within approximately 5-7 days after the injections have been administered. Typically, the effects will last for 3 to 4 months. Therefore, Botox treatments are considered completely temporary and will need to be refreshed to have the full benefits.
